Many buyers send an inquiry saying, “Please quote stainless steel BBQ grill mesh.” But for a manufacturer, this information is not enough to calculate an accurate price.
To receive a fast and accurate quotation, buyers should provide a complete specification. Wire mesh is normally specified by material, mesh count or opening size, wire diameter, size, weave or welded structure, and edge treatment. Mesh count means the number of openings in one inch, while wire diameter and opening size directly affect strength, weight, airflow, and cost.
A good RFQ for stainless steel BBQ grill mesh should include:
Material grade: 304, 316, 201, or customized
Wire diameter: for example, 1.0 mm, 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm
Opening size or mesh count
Overall size: length × width
Shape: round, square, rectangular, customized
Structure: woven, welded, crimped, or framed
Edge type: raw edge, folded edge, welded frame, or smooth polished edge
Surface finish: bright, polished, cleaned, or passivated
Quantity: pieces per order
Packaging: bulk pack, carton pack, retail pack, or private label pack

If you already have a sample, sending photos, drawings, or a physical sample is the best way to avoid misunderstanding. If you do not have drawings, a supplier can usually help create a simple drawing after receiving size and application details.
For OEM and distributor orders, packaging information is also important. Retail customers care about label design, barcode, instruction sheet, and carton strength. Commercial buyers may care more about pallet packing and container loading efficiency.
Buyer’s Tip: The more complete your RFQ, the faster and more accurate your quote will be. A clear RFQ also reduces sampling mistakes and production delays.
